The Difference’s Inclusive Leadership Course is a one year programme for all school leaders, including 6 days of in-person training, alongside a suite of evaluation and implementation resources. The course equips leaders to better understand, and then plan and deliver a whole-school response to key inclusion challenges: reducing exclusion, improving attendance, strengthening belonging and student wellbeing.

Over 1000 Headteachers, Deputy Heads and Assistant Heads from Primary and Secondary schools across the country have completed the course: It has been specifically designed to support leaders in the development of their Whole-School Inclusion Strategy, strengthening practice expertise and evaluating implementation. “The Difference Inclusive Leadership Course has provided us with a space and a framework to develop our approach to inclusion; giving my leadership team the opportunity to collaborate on plans, and more effectively coordinated our work. The quality of course delivery and coherence of its structure, enabled us to focus on our school priorities with targeted strategies that have delivered significant improvements over the last 2 years. This has reaffirmed positive practice in our school and supported changes which are impacting on student outcomes. The Difference is being seen and felt in our classrooms and corridors.” – Headteacher, Inclusive Leadership NE Cohort
